Up to this point, we have primarily used the Tick Data and Market Replay functionality of the MotiveWave trading platform to demonstrate various setups and strategies made possible with ITG Quantum AI. This approach represents one of the most advanced and reliable methods for testing algorithmic trading systems. When MotiveWave is connected to a live data feed, it records every individual tick and transaction, storing them directly on the user’s hard drive. This can result in upwards of 200GB of historical tick data, enabling traders and developers to backtest strategies across multiple years with remarkable precision. Although widely trusted and extremely effective for simulation and testing, market replay testing still differs from the unpredictable and often volatile nature of live trading environments.
That’s why this section is dedicated to showcasing ITG Quantum AI operating in real-time conditions. While it’s impractical to record full 23-hour trading sessions, we can capture high-impact trading windows in short 5 to 10-minute video clips. These sessions give traders an authentic view of how the algorithm behaves in live markets—how it executes trades, scales positions, and manages risk based on pre-set strategy rules. The videos featured here will vary in setup: some will be recorded using simulation accounts with a live market feed, others will come from live funded accounts, and some will feature proprietary firm accounts. This video was recorded during the final hours of the last trading day in May, with no special preparations or carefully planned setup. We simply turned on the computer, configured the algorithm using our standard settings, and began recording. The session started at 12:03 PM EST—well after the market had already moved over 28 points for the day—without any directional bias or prior technical analysis. The purpose of this test wasn’t to capture a perfect trade or highlight a favorable setup, but rather to show the raw, unfiltered performance of ITG Quantum AI in a real live market environment.
Throughout the session, we let the algorithm run as it normally would, with no manual intervention. Trading continued until our standard cutoff time of 4:00 PM EST, which is when we typically close out all open positions for the day. To make the video more viewer-friendly, we paused the recording during periods of inactivity when the AI was waiting for a new signal, and resumed once a new position was initiated. This allows for a smoother viewing experience while still showing the full range of the algorithm’s decision-making process.
What you’ll see in this video closely mirrors the behavior demonstrated in our previous Market Replay videos using MotiveWave’s Tick Data functionality.
