In this video, we’ll be testing Bitcoin cryptocurrency quoted in Euros, using tick data from Cryptoconnect sourced through Coinbase, alongside the Market Replay feature in MotiveWave. Tick data records every individual trade executed, offering the highest level of accuracy for historical playback and strategy testing. When paired with Market Replay, it allows us to simulate live trading conditions and assess the performance of our algorithm with exceptional precision. The full test configuration is available in the video description, but let’s briefly highlight the key settings:

Entry Order Type: Market
Entry Time: End of Bar
Session Profit Target: $20,000
Session Risk Limit: $20,000
Additional Buffer: 10,000 ticks
Profit Target per Trade: 20,000 ticks
Maximum Open Positions: 40
SuperTrend Consistency: Not required for entry
To filter entry signals more precisely, set ITG Signal Strength to 30-50-70
The SuperTrend Indicator is set to a 3.00 multiplier and 7 periods.

All other settings can remain at default. For this test, we’ll run the algorithm from 6:30 PM Eastern Time on Sunday, May 25, through 12pm, on Saturday, May 31st.

Scalping

Suitable for range and second bar. Can be used during any trading session, Short profits and large number of open positions.

Swing Trading

This could be done using 1m-5m-10m charts. Suitable for classical 1-2 lots trading with Stop Loss or with scalable positions options.

US Trading Session

This sessions usually last from 7am-2pm. Could be set up with breaks for news release and NYSE opening to avoid volatility.

30 Minutes Trading

You'll trade only 30 minutes a day during the most volatile market , during the opening of NYSE using range bars.

This is position trading with 1-2 contracts and very large profit targets. Trades initiated at the same time every day.

Very reliable set up using 30M bars. Start with the opening of trading session and closed 30 minutes before the closing.
