ITG Quantum AiBrief introduction to ITG Quantum AI

We first developed ITG Quantum AI in 2019 with a clear vision: to build a trading tool that incorporated essential features we personally believed every serious trader should have. One of the earliest features implemented was daily risk control—because you can’t have reward without risk management. Naturally, we added a daily profit target alongside it. Together, these features allow traders to structure disciplined strategies, and as we explain in our EDGE section on the Compound Risk Reinvestment System, even a 1:1 risk/reward ratio with just a 62% win rate can deliver exceptional long-term results.

We also built in flexible trade entry options: at the end of a bar or intrabar. For ultra-high-frequency strategies, intrabar entry offers faster reaction and generates more signals. On higher timeframes like 5-, 15-, or 30-minute charts, end-of-bar entries help filter out noise and improve signal quality. This solves a common issue for manual traders—missed entries due to quick price movements—which often leads to chasing trades at worse prices. ITG Quantum AI can execute precisely when signals appear, improving consistency.

Another critical feature is signal filtering by direction—long, short, or both. This gives traders the power to adapt to trending or ranging markets. Profit target customization further allows users to switch between scalping and swing trading modes depending on their strategy.

The system is fundamentally based on the Martingale principle, where it can scale into a trade when the market moves against the initial position. Depending on the setup, it can add a fixed number of contracts at predefined levels or adjust dynamically when new signals in the same direction occur. It then recalculates the average entry price and updates the profit target accordingly, increasing the chance of a profitable exit even in choppy markets.

To protect against unexpected volatility, we included session management features. The algorithm can be configured to run only during specific time windows, automatically closing trades at session end to avoid overnight risk and margin issues. This is especially useful during news events or market opens.

In essence, ITG Quantum AI is not a “magic money machine,” nor do we claim it can predict markets with certainty. What it is, is a professional-grade trading assistant designed to help you stick to your plan, manage risk effectively, and optimize trade execution. When used with our Compound Risk Reinvestment model, it becomes a powerful tool for accelerating your path toward consistent profitability. Try it for yourself—you’ll quickly see the difference.

ITG Quantum AI delivers the best results when used alongside our proprietary market analysis approach taught in the Futures Master Class. The recommended setup involves running the AI on a range or tick chart on one screen, while monitoring a higher time frame chart—such as 5, 15, or 30 minutes—of the same instrument on a second screen. Once a directional signal is identified on the higher time frame, the trader enables ITG Quantum AI to trade in that direction—either LONG or SHORT. The high time frame signal also provides a clear stop-loss level, which should be used as a point to deactivate the AI and close all open positions. If the market continues to move in the trade’s favor, the AI can remain active until a signal in the opposite direction appears, at which point the algorithm should be reversed accordingly.

Because the AI can generate a high number of trades when operating on tick or range charts, daily profit targets may be reached quickly. However, the same applies to potential losses if the tool is used improperly. It’s essential to approach trading with adequate capital, a clear daily profit/loss limit, and defined goals to fully leverage ITG Quantum AI’s capabilities. Recommended settings, minimum equity requirements, supported markets, and strategy guidelines are provided separately for each version of the software.

The Trade Direction

The Trade Direction – Long Only, Short Only, Both feature allows traders to control the directional bias of the ITG Quantum AI algorithm, filtering which types of signals—buy (long), sell (short), or both—the system should respond to. This flexibility is particularly useful in adapting to different market conditions, such as trending environments where only long or short trades are appropriate, or ranging markets where both directions can be traded. The feature can be utilized in fully automated mode, where the algorithm executes trades only in the selected direction without intervention, or in manual mode, where the trader enables or disables the algorithm based on their analysis and market outlook. This control ensures that trades align with the trader’s strategy and overall market bias.

The Entry Order Type

The Entry Order Type – Market or Limit feature gives traders the flexibility to choose how ITG Quantum AI enters trades—either immediately at the market price or by placing a limit order at a specified price level. The default and recommended setting is Market Order, as it ensures the trade is executed without delay once a valid signal is generated, which is crucial for maintaining the system’s timing and performance. The Limit Order setting is intended for highly specific scalping strategies, where the trader aims to capture only 1–2 ticks of profit per trade. However, this approach comes with added risk, as the limit order may not be filled if the price doesn’t reach the target level, requiring manual cancellation to allow the algorithm to resume trading. Therefore, Market Orders are advised for most trading scenarios to avoid missed opportunities and maintain system flow.

The Entry Time

The Entry Time – End of Bar or Intrabar feature allows traders to control when ITG Quantum AI executes a trade after a signal is generated. The Intrabar setting enables trade entries within the formation of a bar and is ideal for scalping and high-frequency strategies, where rapid execution is crucial and positions are often closed due to short-term market noise. However, this setting can produce a higher volume of less precise signals and should be used with caution. On the other hand, the End of Bar setting waits until the bar is fully formed before generating a trade signal, providing a more refined and reliable entry point. This approach is better suited for traditional or swing trading methods, particularly when using 5, 15, or 30-minute timeframes, where identifying overbought or oversold conditions at bar close is more effective.

The Session Profit Target and Session Stop Loss

The Session Profit Target and Session Stop Loss features are the most critical components of the ITG Quantum AI system, as they provide essential risk control and align with our Compound Risk Reinvestment Strategy. These settings ensure that trading stops automatically once the trader reaches a predetermined profit or loss limit for the day, helping protect capital and maintain discipline. Since ITG Quantum AI is built around a 1:1 risk/reward model, the primary objective is to achieve consistent results over time—just 5-6 more profitable days than losing ones per month (approximately 62% win rate) is enough to stay on track. In practice, all versions of our algorithm have historically delivered about 75% profitable trades.

The Buffer of Initial Entry Limit Order in Ticks

The Buffer of Initial Entry Limit Order in Ticks is a specialized feature designed for advanced trading strategies that operate on higher time frames. It allows traders to place a limit entry order a set number of ticks away from the current price, aiming for a more favorable entry. However, this setting carries the same risk previously mentioned: the order might not get filled if the market doesn’t retrace to the specified price level, which can result in missed trades and require manual order cancellation to resume trading. For these reasons, this feature is not recommended for most traders, especially those new to using ITG Quantum AI, and should be used only by experienced traders implementing very specific strategies.

The Additional Orders Buffer (in ticks)

The Additional Orders Buffer (in ticks) feature defines the price levels at which ITG Quantum AI will add trades if the market moves against the initial position. When enabled, the algorithm places up to five additional orders, capped by your Maximum Open Position setting—and continuously recalculates the average entry price, adjusting your Profit Limit order accordingly. In v3, this buffering is fully automated. In v4, you’ll specify the number of lots and tick offsets for each add-on level, and the AI handles all order placement and profit-target recalculations dynamically.

The Option to Use Stop Loss

The Option to Use Stop Loss on Initial Orders allows traders to convert ITG Quantum AI from a Martingale-style strategy to a traditional trading setup, where each position includes a predefined stop loss and profit target. Enabling this feature turns off the Martingale logic, meaning the system will not add additional positions if the trade moves against you—making it especially suitable for traders with limited capital or small accounts who are unable to scale into trades. This approach supports customizable risk-reward ratios and performs well in both ranging and trending markets, offering clean entries and exits without complex trade stacking. When using this setting, the Maximum Open Positions should be set to 1, as combining this feature with Martingale logic may lead to inefficient risk management, with the stop being applied across multiple positions rather than a single entry.

Use of Profit Target

Use of Profit Target is a core feature of ITG Quantum AI that defines how much profit the algorithm aims to capture per trade, and it should be tailored to the specific trading strategy and market being traded. For higher time frame strategies, slightly larger profit targets are recommended to match broader market movements, while scalping strategies benefit from smaller targets that allow for quicker trade closures. Since market volatility varies—for example, between the E-mini S&P 500 and NASDAQ—profit target settings must be adapted accordingly. In many cases, smaller profit targets produce better results, as they allow positions to close more frequently and avoid reversals. Even a few ticks can determine whether a session ends in profit or loss. A general rule is to set the profit target at 70–80% above the combined trading fees and commissions.

Maximum Open Position Limit

Maximum Open Position Limit: This feature allows traders to set a cap on the number of open positions the ITG Quantum AI can hold at any given time, helping to align the algorithm’s activity with the trader’s account size and the limits set by the broker or FCM (Futures Commission Merchant). It serves as a safeguard to ensure the algorithm does not exceed the risk limits imposed by the broker’s compliance department. This setting is especially important in Version 3.03 of ITG Quantum AI, where additional positions are dynamically added by the AI in response to new signals. In contrast to earlier versions where traders could manually define how many positions to add and at what levels, this version requires tighter controls through the maximum open position setting to avoid overexposure.

Require SuperTrend Consistency for Entry

Require SuperTrend Consistency for Entry: This feature allows ITG Quantum AI to use the SuperTrend indicator as a secondary directional filter, helping to align trades with the broader market trend. When enabled, the algorithm will only execute signals that match the direction indicated by the SuperTrend—long signals when SuperTrend is bullish and short signals when it’s bearish. This helps to reduce false signals and improve trade quality by ensuring entries are taken in harmony with the prevailing trend, making it particularly useful in trending markets or when aiming to filter out countertrend trades.

Intrabar Exit and End-of-Bar Exit on Opposite Trend

Intrabar Exit and End-of-Bar Exit on Opposite Trend: This risk management feature gives ITG Quantum AI the ability to automatically close open positions either immediately (Intrabar) or at the close of the current bar (End-of-Bar) when the SuperTrend indicator flips direction or is breached. It’s designed to help protect against sudden market reversals by ensuring trades are only held while the trend remains intact. However, in volatile markets where SuperTrend closely tracks price movements, this feature can trigger premature exits and frequent stop-outs—potentially limiting the effectiveness of the Martingale logic. For that reason, it should be used with caution, properly tested, and adjusted based on market conditions and strategy type.

Input for Trading Signal Generation

Input for Trading Signal Generation: This setting allows ITG Quantum AI to define which price data point (such as Close, Open, High, Low, etc.) will be used for generating trading signals, leveraging MotiveWave’s indicator-on-indicator logic. While this feature provides flexibility for advanced users looking to fine-tune or experiment with specific strategies, the default input—Close—is strongly recommended for most traders. It offers the most consistent and reliable results across different market conditions. Unless you have a clear understanding of how changing this input affects your strategy, it’s best not to modify it.

Signals Setup

Signals Setup: This setting allows traders to customize how aggressively ITG Quantum AI generates trading signals, with the default configuration set at 70 (Top Guide), 50 (Middle Guide), and 30 (Bottom Guide), which corresponds to classic overbought and oversold levels for each bar. Adjusting these values higher will reduce the number of signals, while lowering them will increase signal frequency. The highest volume of signals occurs with settings near 51-50-49 combined with the Intrabar input option. Traders are encouraged to experiment with this setting depending on the specific market, trading session, and their personal strategy to find the optimal balance between signal frequency and reliability.

SuperTrend Setup

SuperTrend Setup Options allow you to control how ITG Quantum AI responds to generated signals based on the SuperTrend indicator. The standard configuration is set to 2.0 for the multiplier and 7 for the period. Lower values make the SuperTrend line closely follow the candle highs and lows, which is useful for tighter risk management when combined with the “Exit on Opposite Trend” feature. Alternatively, higher values like 10 over 20 smooth out the indicator, helping the AI capture broader trend movements on smaller timeframes. These settings should be customized to match the specific market, chart timeframe, and trading strategy being used.

Trading Options

Trading Options – Trading Lot is a key component of our Compound Risk Reinvestment System (CRRS). When beginning your trading journey with a CRRS-based plan, this setting should initially be configured to 1 lot. After reaching your monthly trading goal—whatever target you’ve set—you can scale up your trading lot size here. Keep in mind that increasing your lot size also requires adjusting your daily risk and profit targets, as well as the maximum open position limit, to maintain alignment with your evolving capital and risk profile.

The Enter on Activate

The Enter on Activate feature allows ITG Quantum AI to enter a position at the market immediately upon activation of the algorithm. It works in conjunction with defined trading session times—if both the session time and this feature are enabled, the first trade will be executed as soon as the session begins. If this feature is disabled, the AI will wait for a valid trading signal before entering a position. This option is designed for use with specific trading strategies that require immediate market engagement at session start.

The Close on Deactivate

The Close on Deactivate feature serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it can automatically close all open positions at the end of a defined trading session—useful for avoiding increased volatility before news events, minimizing overnight risk, or exiting after a fixed trading window (such as the first 30 minutes after market open). Secondly, it provides manual control—if you deactivate the algorithm directly from the chart, it will immediately close all open positions at market price. This feature enhances risk management and flexibility within your trading plan.

The Option to Enable Signal Notifications

The Option to Enable Signal Notifications allows you to stay informed about trading activity on higher timeframes, even when you’re away from your computer. This is especially useful if you’re using a VPS to run ITG Quantum AI on charts like the 30-minute timeframe. When enabled, the system can send email or push notifications—such as to your phone—whenever a new trading signal is generated or a position is entered. This gives you the flexibility to monitor trades remotely and log in to your server if needed to manage or review positions in real time.
